Spanish in the U.S

As I prepare my presentation: “Language and Social Justice: Cristina Rivera Garza and Academic Activism” for the panel: Transnational Solidarity: Challenges of Intersectionality and Activism in the Latin American/US borderlands for this November (2017) National Women’s Studies Association (NWSA) Baltimore, MD, I have been looking into current media portrayals of Spanish. What I have found so far, has not gone against my thesis: Spanish is thriving, as the title of this NYT articles clearly exemplies:
